Cottage work resumes...

You may or may not have noticed that I have not posted any cottage photos for a while. Actually it has been rather depressing. I don't want to go into details, but suffice it to say we have a new builder who is going to get this project done!

Work begins on finishing up the steel roof on the cottage on Wednesday.  It is mostly done, but needs a ridge cap and some trim and a few other things of that nature.

Camping Cabin

Trench to cabin, right now part of it is in the wrong place, but when it is dug right we will be able to run water and electric to the cabin.
The trench to the camping cabin [above] will be done on Thursday so we can run water and electric down there to make the cabin more usable. We will not actually have running water in the cabin, but we will have a frost-proof hydrant next to it.  This cabin is fairly close to the cottage so campers can walk up to the bath facilities easily.
This is about where we are as far as progress. There is a bit more siding on it ,but it needs to be finished. The deck needs to have 6x6's holding it up instead of 4x4's, so it will have to take a step back before it can take a step forward.
The septic is in, which is good. There is a quite a bit of interior work that needs to be done, such as trim, tile, some drywall in the basement and so on. It would take us forever, but the professionals should be able to knock it out in no time.  I have ordered the cabinets and they are to be delivered in mid-October. Then the counter top team comes and makes a template and then will they will bring back a custom counter by mid-November.

I ordered the carpet and vinyl [for the basement bath]. The vinyl is installed and the carpet will go in when the finish work is done.

We will be glad when it is finally done. We did the layout in January and the basement was poured mid-February. For a 580 square foot house, it is taking a long time. I keep seeing myself curled up by the wood stove with a cup of hot tea--now that the weather has turned cold I am anxious to live the fantasy!

I hope to be able to post some photos showing progress later this week.

Take care,
Jill
